1. The Birth of MBMC

    In late 1985, four friends, all Mercedes model collectors, and Daimler-Benz employees, were discussing the upcoming festivities celebrating "One Hundred Years of the Automobile", due to take place in early 1986.

    It was then they realized the lack of and need for a Mercedes model car enthusiasts club. So on February 2, 1986, the "Mercedes-Benz Modellauto-Club" (MBMC), was registered.

  2. Incorporated to the Daimler AG

    The Daimler-Benz AG Corporation, having encouraged the creation of the club, soon became a member of the MBMC, and officially recognized the club as the umbrella organization of all Mercedes-Benz model car clubs and branches worldwide.

  3. MBMC Journal was published

    At the beginning of 1987, the club's own MBMC-Journal was published for the first time, which is still published quarterly - with a multiple improved, complex layout - and provides the members with interesting information and reports on more than 50 pages.

  4. First Exhibition at Daimler-Benz Museum

    Over the years, the MBMC has repeatedly succeeded in staging regionally and nationally. With one of the largest model car exhibitions ever, over 60 showcases with more than 2000 models were presented in the Daimler-Benz Museum in 1988.

  5. Inauguration of Netherlands Regional Club

    Netherlands regional club was inaugurated in 1988 and this was the first MBMC international regional club.

  6. Inauguration of Rhein/Ruhr Regional Club in Germany

    Rhein/Ruhr regional club was inaugurated in 1989 and this was the first MBMC regional club in Germany.

  7. Inauguration of Saarland Regional Club in Germany

    Saarland regional club was inaugurated in 1990 and this was the second MBMC regional club in Germany.

  8. MBMC 5th Anniversary

    MBMC celebrated its 5th anniversary in 1991. To mark this occasion, the club issued a W 111 model car in 1:87 scale.

  9. MBMC Made its Very First Model Car

    MBMC made its very first model car in 1992. It was a 190 SL in 1:87 scale.

  10. Inauguration of Bayern/Franken Regional Club in Germany

    Bayern/Franken regional club was inaugurated in 1995 and was the third MBMC regional club in Germany.
    Presently, this club is inactive.

  11. MBMC 10th Anniversary

    MBMC celebrated its 10th anniversary in 1996. To mark this occasion, the club issued two model cars.

     
     
  12. Inauguration of North America/Canada Regional Club

    North America/Canada regional club was inaugurated in 1999 and was the second MBMC international regional club.

  13. MBMC Newsletter was published

    MBMC Newsletter was published. Initially it was only in English, but due to the high demand, the author was forced to release a multi-language newsletter.

  14. MBMC 15th Anniversary

    MBMC celebrated its 15th anniversary in 2001. To mark this occasion club issued W 136 - 170V model in 1:43 scale.
    This limited edition model was made by Schuco in Germany.

  15. MBMC 20th Anniversary

    MBMC celebrated its 20th anniversary in 2006. To mark this occasion, the club issued 2 model cars in in 2 different scales.
                                (1) W194/II 300SL in 1:43 by Tin Wizard.          (2) L319 in 1:87 by Premium ClassiXXs.

       
  16. Inauguration of Australian Regional Club

    Australian regional club was inaugurated in 2006 and was the third MBMC international regional club.

  17. MBMC 25th Anniversary

    MBMC celebrated its 25th anniversary in 2011. To mark this occasion, the club issued 3 model cars in in 2 different scales.
    (1) W120 180D "Bakkie" in 1:43 by IXO/PremiumX-models.    (2) LAK 2624 in 1:50 Pink    (3) LAK 2624 in 1:50 Blue.

       
  18. Celebration of 25 Years of Membership

    MBMC gifted this Mercedes-Benz 600 Landaulet model as “Recognition” to their members who completed their 25 year membership in 2011.

  19. MBMC 30th Anniversary

    MBMC celebrated its 30th anniversary in 2016. To mark this occasion, the club issued Mercedes-Benz Unimog UGE 400 in 1:50 scale. This model is a limited edition of 100 pieces.
